" @ The End Of The Day "

“Sunsets are just little glimpses of the Golden streets of Heaven.”

-Author: Unknown

It's exactly 6:29 PM. What better time to write a story about this particular photograph than @ the end of the day? This image might also be appropriately entitled, "A Candid of the Sun". While as a rule, I’m in the habit of posing my subject, sometimes a subject poses for me—with the hope that I will take notice. This was one of those moments…and it was a fleeting one. The sun sets much more quickly than I ever imagined. When I saw this scene ‘painted’ in the frame of my window, I had only a minute to locate my camera, to choose my lens and my settings—in order to capture it. Afterwards, I wondered,“in just that one minute, how many times did this ‘picture’ change?”

That is the beauty of photography and why I’m so impassioned. Moments are fleeting; each one is unique. The setting sun—filtered by the trees and my lace curtains on September 23, 2016 at 6:29 PM—will never look exactly the same way again. And here it is…in all its glory!

This is, by far, one of my most beloved and popular photographs. It prints beautifully on gold-metallic paper. Should you have the space, and you’d like to purchase a copy, I suggest printing it in large format—such as 24”x36”.

Then again, no purchase is required at all. Simply stopping by to take in the view won’t cost you a cent. I invite you to do so—and often. After all, window-shopping and sunsets have something in common: They’re both free of charge.
